After eight long years, SOS have finally announced their long-awaited sophomore album, titled It Was A Moment.

The news was shared by the band’s frontman Roberto Seña on his official social media platforms, writing a heartfelt letter dedicated the group’s fans, their audience, and his peers in the music industry. “In a few weeks, you will be hearing our second album for the first time. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous,” said Seña in the opening segment of his letter. “The album is called It Was A Moment. and whether you’ve loved us for years or have just heard of us for the first time, we’re glad to share these moments with you,” he continued.

“in a few weeks, you will be hearing our second album for the first time. i would be lying if i said i wasn’t nervous.

if you had to ask me what the album was about, i would say that it’s an amalgamation of moments, ideas and feelings that we have experienced as a group and as individuals in the last few years.

it’s a sad glance, it’s being recluse when you’re surrounded by loved ones, it’s the anxiety of being an adult but it is also the joy of being one (or at least trying be). it could be relief but it could also be the weight on your shoulders.

the album is called it was a moment. and whether you’ve loved us for years or have just heard of us for the first time, we’re glad to share these moments with you.

cheers,
seña”

Following this, on March 5, 2025 (Wednesday), the band announced that is set to release a new single ahead of the album’s release, entitled “Yumi & The Apocalypse.” The band described the track as “another expression of angst and loss — served in classic SOS fashion but with a hint of the new. We hope you guys like it. We hope it makes you feel.” It is set to come out on March 7, 2025 (Friday). Pre-save it here.

It Was A Moment marks the second album of SOS, following the release of their cult-favorite album Whatever That Was. Since its release back in 2017, the album has spawned numerous now-classics, such as “Favoritism,” “Leave Me Out Of It,” and the beloved live crowd-pleaser “Magic.”

In 2020, the band also released their second EP, titled The Other Side, and have since continued releasing several singles over the years, including “Proof,” “Seryoso,” “Roses,” “Please Lang,” and “Amore.” Also last year, SOS a compilation extended play which featured their tracks “Just A Little Bit Of Rain,” “Please Lang,” “Roses,” and “Seryoso,” all performed in the live setting.

Though no official details with regards to its tracklist have been revealed to the public, Seña’s announcement stated the album’s release date is scheduled for March 28, 2025, with more information set to be announced soon.
