Similar Sky has just released a brand new single, titled “Huwag Mo Kong Iwanan.”
The track features fellow Baguio City-based musician David La Sol and embraces themes of one’s yearning for love, which is perfectly translated via a raw vulnerability that demonstrates love in its most human (and uncompromised) form. “Sana maintindihan ng listeners namin na naka-relate sa song na we can’t force ourselves to love if we’re not prepared for the pain,” the synth-pop band mentions in an official press statement. “Mahalaga na mag-heal muna tayo on our own as individuals before we seek love again.”
(“We hope that our listeners who relate to the song understand that we can’t force ourselves to love if we’re not prepared for the pain. It’s important to heal first on our own as individuals before we seek love again.”)
“Huwag Mo Kong Iwanan” was produced by Jovel Rivera, and features mixing by Shadiel Chan and mastering by Jan Fuertez — the powerhouse duo renowned for Dilaw‘s “Uhaw,” Cup Of Joe‘s “Tingin,” and Sunkissed Lola‘s “Pasilyo.” The track was also written by Hananel Lauzon, Tim Dionela, and Anj Roxas.
The release follows after the group’s string of singles, “Kahit Saglit” and “Di Na Posible,” with the track fitting as a much-welcome entry into their discography.
