Last May 10, it was announced that OPM rock veterans Sandwich and rising indie star SUYEN are soon to join forces on an upcoming single entitled “Basura.” This exciting collaborative piece is scheduled to come out on June 6, and is available for pre-saving here.
Both parties are also set to celebrate the new song with a single launch this June 13, at the 123 Block, Mandaluyong City. In this special event, Sandwich and SUYEN will be joined by fellow local indie rock artists Eggboy, Ila, and Kim Leo. Pre-sale prices are set at Php. 250 for individual tickets, and Php. 1000 for a package of five tickets, and can be purchased through this digital form.
This marks SUYEN’s first musical drop following the release of her debut EP Suyen Imnida. As an introductory piece, the record contains a total of six tracks, including the title track, as well as pre-release singles “Teka Lang! (looper machine),” “Tampo,” and “Bente.”
On the other hand, Sandwich has come out with their sophomore extended play entitled Kaswal last March 10. The EP was preceded by a total of four singles — “Nyare?,” “Ibang Araw Na Lang,” “Morena,” and ” “Wag Ka na lang Kumagat.” To celebrate the release of the six-track record, SUYEN and other fellow rising acts like Ozo and Gloryen joined the band’s EP launch, with each one giving a live set prior to Sandwich’s performance.
