Eraserheads: Combo on the Run is set to have advanced screenings across North America, paired with a live concert by OPM rock legend and Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia.

Presented as a film-and-concert experience, the events will commence in four cities ahead of the documentary’s wider theatrical release in the US and Canada on April 24, distributed by Abramorama. Along with the advanced screening, ‘Ely Buendia Live in Concert’ will allow audiences to experience the story of the band and its music live and in living color.

The North American premiere series is hosted and produced by Élevé Entertainment, together with Charles Victor Entertainment and East 45th Productions.

The advanced screenings are scheduled for April 8 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, April 10 at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver, April 13 at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema in Toronto, and April 19 at the AMC Empire 25 in New York.

Produced by DVent Films and directed by Maria Diane Ventura, the acclaimed documentary chronicles the band’s rise from college students in the late 1980’s to becoming an influential force in the world of OPM.

Before it heads to North America, the film became the first Filipino music documentary to receive the widest theatrical release in the Philippines through Warner Bros. It is also the first Filipino film to screen at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), one of the largest fan conventions in the world.

In the past few months, during the festival season, it has racked up awards such as the Best International Documentary prize at the Ierapetra International Feature Documentary Festival in Greece and has screened at various film festivals around the world.
