What was once Short ‘n Sweet is getting longer and a lot more savory.
Fresh off her recent set of Grammy wins, pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter has announced the release of a deluxe version for her award-winning album Short ‘n Sweet. The twelve-track record is getting a boost with an additional five tracks –– rounding up the total to seventeen songs, which includes a collaboration track with country legend Dolly Parton.
Carpenter shared the official announcement to her social media accounts, describing the release “as a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammy’s.” “Yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy shit!” she exclaimed.
Parton’s involvement on the record comes on a collaborative rendition of the chart-topping “Please Please Please”, while other bonus tracks added include “15 Minutes”, “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder”, “Busy Woman”, and “Bad Reviews.”
Just a few days back, Carpenter won her first set of Grammy awards at the Recording Academy’s 67th iteration of the ceremony –– taking home trophies for ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ and ‘Best Pop Performance’ for “Espresso.” Aside from her two wins throughout the night, the pop star was nominated for the major awards categories of Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year.
She also performed an impressive medley of “Espresso” with “Please Please Please” at the ceremony proper, delighting audiences with a reworked jazzy rendition of both tracks set to a comedic act that resulted in gag-worthy outfit changes.
Aside from the announcement of a deluxe edition of the album, Carpenter also announced the release of an upcoming Funko POP! figurine, which commemorates the iconic promotional images of her award-winning chart-breaker, “Espresso.”
Short ‘n Sweet (Deluxe) is scheduled to be available on streaming, digital, and physical platforms beginning this February 14, 2025 (Valentine’s Day), with special vinyl variants available on double-disc ‘bright azure’ blue and white colored vinyl also set to be made available.
