This year’s Rekta Sa Kalye Music Festival has been rescheduled to March 24, following “unforeseen setbacks.”
At 3:40PM on November 12 (Sunday), the festival published a statement saying, “We appreciate the wonderful response from the local culture and music community when we first announced the event, when we marked Davao, Cebu and Manila, when the Rekta sa Kalye community grew in both attendees and ideas, and when those ideas started to materialize.”
“We committed ourselves entirely to bring you the event that we have envisioned for you, despite the challenges ahead, but we have to make this difficult decision…The sudden, unforeseen setback from one of the event’s producers has affected the event’s progress, and we have come to the conclusion that we will not be able to create our vision and execute the event up to our standards if we are to hastily amend and push through with the original date.”
The festival published another statement at 5:09PM regarding updates for ticket holders. They shared, “We are actively working to resolve an internal matter, ensuring that this will not impact the quality and success of Rekta Sa Kalye Culture & Music Festival…Existing ticketholders will be honored once the event resumes in March 2024.”
Rekta Sa Kalye Music Festival was supposed to happen this November 18 at the CCP Concert Grounds Pasay City. The festival announced over 30 performers, including Rico Blanco, Parokya ni Edgar, December Avenue, Al James, Loonie, Silent Sanctuary, Lola Amour, Zild, Mayonnaise, Flow G, Omar Baliw, Gins&melodies, O $IDE MAFIA, and Kiyo to name a few. It also featured multiple street events, such as a tattoo competition, street ball, a 16 bars challenge, bazaars, a bike show, and street magic.
Tickets were priced at P650 for general admission, P1000 for the gold ticket, and P2000 for the VIP ticket.
