This Friday (February 21), the Philippine experimental pop star Pikoy will be unveiling her latest single entitled “Bagong Gawa.” She had previously taken to her official Instagram account to give a sneak peek of the song, previewing the offbeat pop track’s maximalist and edgy production. “Bagong Gawa” marks her first release for this year, and is available for pre-saving here.
This follows her latest solo release, “Bawat Hinga,” that was released in August of last year. Pikoy debuted in 2014 and is currently signed under filtered music, along with the up-and-coming alt rock artist, SUYEN. The artist is otherwise known for her distinctive cover of the Eraserheads’ classic “Toyang” for the Pop Machine series, and her unique vocal tone with almost transcendental qualities.
