Over October has just announced their latest single, “Kaakit-Akit.”
The five-piece indie outfit shared the news on their official social media platforms, along with the song’s official cover art and lyrics. The animated artwork designed by Ivy Berces features a multicolored cover that encapsulates the technicolor hues of love’s many emotions, with a special emphasis on the butterflies that build up within one’s stomach. The lyrics shared tell a story of a budding romance, with the narrator falling head over heels for the subject of their emotions.
“Kaakit-Akit” is scheduled to be released on all streaming and digital platforms this July 19, 2024, and follows after the successful “Ikot,” which stands as one of the Top 50 tracks charting in the Philippines on the platform of Spotify. The viral success of the track beyond social media and streaming platforms has led to a larger breakthrough for the band and its discography in the mainstream, introducing their artistry to a whole new set of listeners and fans.
Just last year, the group signed on to Underdog Music following their departure from Island Records and Universal Music Group earlier in the year. Their singles “I Had You” and “123” marked their first releases via Underdog, with “Ikot” being the latest addition to their discography.
