This October promises to be a very special month for indie chartbreakers Over October.
Just yesterday (September 22), the “Ikot” hitmakers announced the forthcoming release of their long-awaited sophomore album, titled Make Believe. Sharing the news as a surprise to their fans and followers on their official social media platforms, the five-piece band stated: “Through the years, thanks for being here, Octobears. This one’s for you, a compilation of songs to accompany you through everyday life dropping this October.”
Make Believe is scheduled to be released later this October 1, 2024 — serving as the right kick-off for the rest of their festivities throughout their busy month. Later this October 4 and 12, 2024, the band will be performing two shows of their ‘Ikot Sa Music Museum’ concert series, which marks their first ever solo concert in their ten years in the scene.
It was also announced that the band is set to perform at Billboard Philippines‘ special anniversary celebration, Mainstage, on October 15, 2024 alongside many of the country’s biggest OPM acts at the Mall of Asia Arena — including SB19, BINI, Maki, Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, and a whole lot more.
Prior to the release of Make Believe. the band dropped their debut album, Press Play, last 2019. The record spawned the popular hit singles “Wait,” “Alive,” and “Never Stop,” among others. Beyond the success of their viral track “Ikot,” Over October also dropped a new single titled “Kaakit-Akit,” which has already accumulated over 2.5 million streams and counting since its initial release earlier on July 19, 2024.
