Representing the Philippines in one of Europe’s leading international music showcases, Filipino violinist-singer Muri made her debut on the Focus Wales 2026 stage last May 6, as the festival’s sole Filipino act.

Performing on the AXEAN stage in Wrexham, Wales, Muri joined fellow Southeast Asian artists from Malaysia and Indonesia in a showcase celebrating the region’s emerging talent. Known for blending neo-soul melodies and cinematic violin arrangements, the Filipina artist brought her signature soulful performance to the international stage.

Now on its 16th edition, Focus Wales gathered over 250 artists across 20 stages and welcomed more than 22,000 attendees, offering a major platform for rising international acts while supported by organizations including the Arts Council of Wales and the PRS Foundation.

For Muri, the appearance continues a strong run of international performances over the past year. Earlier in 2025, she represented the Philippines at SXSW in Austin, Texas, followed by a performance at Bangkok Music City in Thailand. Focus Wales marked yet another milestone in her growing international music journey.

“It makes me proud to be representing the Philippines on such a global stage, along with representation from the rest of South East Asia,” Muri shared. “It’s not often we come together as a united front from the region, but that’s the beauty of it – bringing people together through music and showcasing what SEA has to offer to the world.”

Apart from her solo work, Muri is also a member of the indie folk band The Ransom Collective. She has earned recognition locally through nominations at the Awit Awards and Wish Awards. With performances spanning Asia and Europe, she also continues to establish herself as one of the Filipino independent artists steadily gaining global attention.
