There’s a new P-pop girl group in town. Groovy Garden Records, the newest label under PULP Music Group, officially debuts its girl group MEI MEI.
Composed of members Alexa, Jhamayka, Ada, Aerise, Thea, Jessie, Yuni, and Dina — the group was officially unveiled during the label’s Grand Media Launch last May 27, 2026, at SM North EDSA Sky Dome.
The launch featured a fiesta-inspired celebration that captured the Filipino spirit, with interactive booths, local street food stalls, and a “MEI Bingo” activity for the crowd to enjoy. It also included the live debut of the group’s first single, “Telebong (Hello Po),” along with the world premiere of its music video.
Introducing both the label and the group, Vernon Go, Chairman and President of PULP Group, shared the journey, saying, “Each member manages to exude a unique character, showing diversity and how beauty can be so varied. The group strikes me as a cutesy-patootsy manifestation of Voltes V! Today, I am still stunned by the development and progress they have made,” he shared.
Building on their distinct identities as a group, MEI MEI also introduced individual concepts that highlight each member’s unique persona: Alexa as the purple “Spark MEI MEI,” Jhamayka as the blue “Cool MEI MEI,” Ada as the yellow “Dolly MEI MEI,” Aerise as the lilac “Sweet MEI MEI,” Thea as the baby pink “Princess MEI MEI,” Jessie as the red “Power MEI MEI,” Yuni as the green “Groovy MEI MEI,” and Dina as the hot pink “Diva MEI MEI.”
The name “MEI MEI” is inspired by the Filipino tradition of repeating names and nicknames such as “Jan-Jan,” “Jun-Jun,” and “May-May” — something that brings warm and familiar affection. “We hope that when you hear MEI MEI, it feels like home. It’s a tribute po kung saan po kami nanggaling (where we came from) and it describes us being so out there and confident,” MEI MEI Jhamayka shared.
“Our main goal is to share our music [with] the fans and to represent young Filipinas po. We want to use this platform to share our individual stories,” leader MEI MEI Jessie explained.
