Icelandic-Chinese jazz singer Laufey is set to release a new single next week, titled “Goddess”.

Laufey first performed the track on February 26, 2024 during her show in Stockholm, Sweden as a surprise performance to the crowd, with the official news of the track’s release following shortly after. Upon making the announcement on her social media platforms, the jazz vocalist described the song as her “the most honest song” she’s written yet, and mentioned it’s forthcoming release date of March 6, 2023 at 1 PM (EST). At the same time, twenty second snippets of the track were made available on platforms like TikTok and Instagram as teasers for the upcoming song.

Just this month, Laufey won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Album for her sophomore album “Bewitched” — which was released last September 15, 2023. The album also spawned the single “From The Start”, a track that has accummulated close to 260 million streams and counting on Spotify alone. Upon accepting her Grammy, she expressed her gratitude at the Record Academy stating “Thank you so much, this is incredible. I never thought in a million years that this would happen. I would just like to thank my lovely team, my parents, and my grandparents for introducing me to music.”

Also recently, Laufey announced her upcoming two-day concert in the Philippines wherein she will be performing a full orchestra show at PICC’s Plenary Hall this May 28 and 29. Both shows sold out in a near instant, with more than fifty thousand people lining up for the online queue.
