Little monsters, are you ready?

The mother monster, Lady Gaga has announced the long-awaited release of her ‘Chromatica Ball‘ concert documentary –– which encapsulates the entirety of the pop star’s seventh headlining tour across North America, Europe, and Asia. Gaga unveiled the first-look poster and release date for the film, which mentions a forthcoming release date of May 25, 2024, and its exclusivity to the streaming platforms of Max/HBO Go.

The first trailer of the HBO Original concert special splices together clips and snippets from Gaga’s on-stage theatrics, backed by her live performances to “Rain On Me” and “Born This Way.” Together with the first teaser, the “Bad Romance” hitmaker released a statement saying how excited she was to “finally sharing The Chromatica Ball film with the world.”

“This film chronicles a time of immense creativity…the fashion, the dance, the music,” she continued. Gaga explained, “Revisiting the tour leaves me speechless the way we had each other—you all showed up for music and art in a big way, and with a level of excitement and freedom that I will never forget. Stadium after stadium. Sold out crowds. The deafening singalongs.”

Chromatica was colorful revenge. The chaos of it all became pure energy and life. With a texture best experienced live. I spent countless hours in the editing room bringing my vision for this film to life. It is my gift to you – directed, produced, and created by me, alongside some of the most talented, creative people in the world,” remarked the 38-year-old pop icon.

Gaga’s The Chromatica Ball began on July 17, 2022, in Düsseldorf, Germany, and concluded its 20-show run across three continents on September 17, 2022, in Miami Gardens, Florida. It served as one of the first major concert tours by any pop act conducted following the COVID-19 lockdown and received both critical and commercial acclaim –– with many outlets giving it the highest scores in their respective reviews. Initially conceived as a limited-run tour, new stops, and dates were added following its two-year delay due to the pandemic.
