HYBE and Geffen Records’ international girl group KATSEYE is launching their very own radio station on Weverse.
Following the finale of the competition series, The Dream Academy, the final lineup of KATSEYE has been preparing for their official debut for quite some time. Still, to give fans a teaser of what’s coming next, the group is launching their own radio station on the Weverse platform. While there is still not much information out there and available regarding what content will be shared through this, the program is scheduled to begin on February 12 (Monday). It will run through every Monday thereafter at 5 PM (PST).

KATSEYE’s final lineup includes Filipina Sophia Laforteza, and Swiss Manon Bannerman, as well as Americans Daniela Avanzani, Lara Rajagopalan, and Megan Skiendiel. Bang Si-Hyuk, the chairman of HYBE, expressed pride in the outcome of the lineup and acknowledged the remarkable contestants who contributed to the project.
In an official statement, he conveyed, “This has been a long journey and an unprecedented collaboration between Hybe and Geffen. We are very proud of the results and of all the contestants who joined us in this project.” Si-Hyuk extended best wishes to KATSEYE, anticipating their global impact: “We wish Katseye much success as we are sure they will inspire fans across the globe.”
Though no official date has been given, the debut album from KATSEYE is slated for release in 2024. In addition to that, an upcoming still-untitled Netflix documentary series is set to showcase the years-long journey of crafting this international girl group. Directed by the Emmy-nominated filmmaker Nadia Hallgren (“Becoming”), the docuseries, produced by HYBE, Interscope Films, and Boardwalk Pictures, is scheduled for a Summer 2024 premiere.
