Singer-songwriter Janine Teñoso has announced that she will be releasing a new single titled “Hulaan” (Guess) this Friday, January 26.

Her new single was written in collaboration between Teñoso and Alvin Serito of SunKissed Lola. This is her first single in 2024, following “Sandig” (Lean) and her twin single release with Cup of Joe titled “Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko” (If We Didn’t Just Give Up) under the Viva One Original Series Soundtrack.
Teñoso first debuted under Viva in 2017 with the release of “Fall.” She achieved her first multi-million hit with her cover of The Itchyworms’ “Di Na Muli” (Never Again). In 2021, her collaboration with Arthur Nery titled “Pelikula” (Movie) racked up over 84 million streams on Spotify. Most recently, she became a chartbreaker for “Tingin” (Look), her first collaboration with Baguio-based band Cup of Joe.

The song clinched the award for Wish Song Collaboration of the Year at the recently concluded 9th Wish Awards, held last January 14. The song entered the Billboard Philippine Songs Chart in October, with the song peaking at the fourth spot on the charts. In an Instagram post recounting the success of “Sandig” and “Tingin,” she wrote, “[S]o many milestones…[I’ve] healed so much big time, and [I’ve] grown and [I’ve] learned…[I’m] grateful [I] get to do this. [T]odo na (I’ll be going full force) next year, let’s gooo [sic].”

She will be performing alongside Arthur Nery, Adie, Rob Deniel, mrld, Rhodessa, and ALAMAT at Viva’s ILYSM Concert happening this February 13 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. Tickets range from P400 for general admission to P4,200 for SVIP. Check out more details here.
