After five long years, the HAIM sisters are ready to make a grand comeback to music with their upcoming single, titled “Relationships.”
The newly announced track was shared on their official social media accounts, revealing the song’s title and official artwork. Photographed by Terrence O’Connor, the cover art pays homage to the viral Nicole Kidman meme of the famed Australian actress stepping out into the sun with a sense of relief stricken across her face, which the three Haim sisters perfectly emulate in their own way. Though no details have been released with regard to the track’s release date on streaming and digital platforms, a pre-save link was made available here.
HAIM first began teasing the forthcoming single last month, releasing a series of teasers, including videos of the trio singing along to lyrics of an unreleased song. Though it has been a while since they last dropped any new music, their song “Home” was included in the Grammy-winning soundtrack to the 2023 blockbuster film Barbie.
Their involvement with Barbie wasn’t their only foray into the world of film, as member Alana Haim starred in Paul Thomas Anderson’s acclaimed comedy-drama Licorice Pizza, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
HAIM’s last full-length album, Women in Music Pt. III, was released all the way back in June 2020. It was met with critical and commercial praise worldwide, and was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards, with its single “The Steps” also nominated for Best Rock Performance.
