Gloc-9 is coming back with a new album next month.
On May 30, Filipino hip-hop legend Gloc-9 announced the release of his latest album, entitled Sari-Sari Story. The announcement came with the reveal of the album’s cover art, featuring a drawing of a sari-sari store with Gloc-9’s name and the album’s title in front. It follows his recently released single “Subok Lang” [“Just Try”] and comes as the immediate follow-up to his 2023 album Pilak [Silver].
The upcoming album is produced by veteran musician Raymund Marasigan of Sandwich, Pedicab, and Party Pace. It is set to come out next month on June 21. Fans may pre-save the album here.
In other news, Gloc-9 was recently a special guest at two major concerts. The first was Gary Valenciano’s Pure Energy: One Last Time at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City where they performed the two OPM icons performed their collaboration track “Walang Pumapalakpak” [“No One’s Clapping”]. The second was at day 2 of SB19’s PAGTATAG! finale at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City where he performed “Sumayaw Ka” [“Dance] and traded rap lines with all members of the trailblazing P-pop group.
Meanwhile, the rap icon also recently teamed up with 6cyclemind last March for the track “Nandiyan Pa Ba?” [“Is It Still There?”] which also features Bayang Barrios, Josh Villena of Autotelic, as well as the members of 6cyclemind’s children.
