G-DRAGON has finally released his third album entitled Übermensch, today, February 25, 2025 (Tuesday) via Galaxy Corporation in partnership with leading independent record label EMPIRE. First announced last February 4, 2025, the album serves as the multi-hyphenate’s first full-length release in nearly 12 years, following COUP D’ETAT, which came out in September 2013.
“’Übermensch’ means ‘Beyond-Man,’ representing an individual who transcends themselves,” states G-DRAGON in a press statement. “This album embodies the idea of presenting a stronger and more resilient version of oneself to the public. I hope this strength resonates with my fans through my music.”
The release of Übermensch was accompanied by music videos for two of the album’s tracks: “Too Bad” with Anderson .Paak and “Drama.” Check out the music videos below:
News of G-DRAGON releasing a new album this year was first reported by South Korean media last January. Alongside this, it was also reported that the King of K-pop is set to hold a solo concert this March 2025. This was seemingly confirmed later by BIGBANG bandmate DAESUNG during their other band member TAEYANG’s own solo concert at the Inspire Arena in Incheon last February 1, 2025.
The release of Übermensch was preceded by two singles from G-DRAGON: “POWER,” released last October 31, 2024, and “HOME SWEET HOME” with TAEYANG and DAESUNG, released last November 2024.
Later on, it was confirmed that the solo concert will be composed of two shows at the Goyang Stadium in Seoul this coming March 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday), with a pre-sale period starting this February 26 (Wednesday) here. The upcoming two shows will mark the K-pop icon’s first concert as a solo artist in almost eight years, following the closing shows of his ‘Act III, M.O.T.T.E’ world tour, held in Taipei last October 7 and 8, 2017. They will serve as the kick-off of his’s forthcoming global tour this year.
Meanwhile, G-DRAGON is set to headline the 2025 iteration of Head In The Clouds Festival Lost Angeles this May. Following this, he is also set to perform at F1 Singapore this October, where he will co-headline with Elton John.
