P-pop girl group DAYDREAM have just announced they will be taking an “indefinite hiatus.”
In a newly posted statement shared on their official social media pages, the trio, comprised of Denise, Kiara, and Pau, shared that they will be taking a break from their time as a group given their busy nature of their solo endeavors. “After much reflection, we’ve decided to take an indefinite hiatus. This wasn’t an easy decision, but a necessary one, as we now forge our own paths – chasing the dreams that brought us together in the first place,” said the group. Read their full announcement below:
“Dear Dreamies,
DAYDREAM has always been about chasing dreams, and we hoped to inspire you to do the same. With your support, we created music that encouraged living boldly and pursuing passions, enjoying the pursuit just as much as achieving those dreams.
The memories we’ve made these three and a half years together will always live in our hearts. It feels like the right time to share something important with you, our amazing fans and supporters who’ve been with us through the highs and lows.
After much reflection, we’ve decided to take an indefinite hiatus. This wasn’t an easy decision, but a necessary one, as we now forge our own paths – chasing the dreams that brought us together in the first place.
Denise is thriving in her hosting career, Pau has built an incredible TikTok community, and Kiara is breaking new ground in her London theatre journey. Though we may be moving in different directions, our friendship remains strong. Even our dear former members are living their dreams— Jom in Disneyland and Awie in cosplay.
DAYDREAM was the spark that helped us excel in these endeavors, and we’re so proud of each other. To everyone who’s cheered us on, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You’ve been such a huge part of this journey and our lives.
This isn’t goodbye forever. We’re staying open to where life takes us, knowing that music and the friendship we’ve shared will always be there to bring us together in some form.
And yes, we haven’t forgotten our promise of new music! As a thank-you, our new single ‘Kailan’ is now out on all streaming platforms. It’s a special song we co-wrote about finding our way back to ourselves.”
“Kailan” was written by the group’s three members, and features production from Martti Franca, Ace Santos, Joaquin Serrano, Ace Santos, and Pop Money Worldwide. The newly released track showcases the girl group embracing more electronic pop sounds, venturing off into more experimental soundscapes than their previous releases.
Though the group hasn’t been active for some time, they released their latest singles “Make Me Better” and “STAY STUCK” back in the last few months of 2023, which marked their first releases under Underdog Music. The group was previously signed to Rebel Records (a sub-label under Warner Music Philippines), wherein they first made their debut as a quartet with different members.
