Along with the season’s holiday spirit, Filipino indie-folk artist Clara Benin will be releasing a new single ‘I Can’t Wait To See You On Christmas Day‘ this November 17 (Friday).
Though not many details regarding the track have been revealed, Benin released the artwork for the single on Facebook and Instagram together with the announcement of the song. Sharing her excitement for the track’s release, Benin described it as her “early Christmas gift” for her fans in a post shared to her Instagram story. The aptly titled track marks the first official Christmas-themed project in Benin’s discography –– a collection that comprises two full-length albums, three extended plays, and multiple singles.
Some fans have noted the possibility that the upcoming single could be a spiritual sibling to Benin’s ‘December‘ from her 2015 EP Riverchild, given that the latter’s lyrics paint a vivid image of the joyous nature of the holiday season. Benin herself acknowledged this point, replying with a cheeky heart and smile emoji to the comments.
Despite reaching the near-end of 2023, Benin has had quite a busy year, having released her second album, befriending my tears, earlier in August. Next month, Benin is set to embark on a supporting tour for the record that kicks off this December 16 (Saturday) at Studio Simula in Cubao. Tickets for the show will be made available tomorrow, November 15 (Wednesday) via Benin’s official website.
