Representing the Philippines on a global stage, BINI, SB19, and ena mori are officially set to perform at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival, joining a star-studded lineup for the event’s 25th anniversary edition.
The announcement came on May 1 as part of the festival’s eighth wave of artists, confirming the participation of the Filipino acts across its dual-city setup in Tokyo and Osaka. Widely regarded as one of Japan’s biggest music festivals, Summer Sonic will run from August 14 to 16, with simultaneous performances at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka and ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo.
Leading the charge, the Nation’s Girl Group BINI is slated for a two-day appearance, performing on August 14 in Osaka and August 16 in Tokyo. Additional artists confirmed include boy band December 10, alongside Real McCoy, Thea Austin, and Crystal Waters for the Eurodance Paradise segment at the Beach Stage.
Kings of P-pop SB19 and Filipino-Japanese singer ena mori will also represent the country in Tokyo, with SB19 performing on August 15 and ena mori taking the Spotify Stage on August 14. Their inclusion highlights the growing global presence of Filipino artists, following a series of international breakthroughs.
BINI, in particular, recently marked a historic milestone with their debut at Coachella, becoming the first all-Filipino act to perform at the festival. The group also earned international recognition at the 2026 Billboard Women in Music, where they received the Global Force Award on April 29 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, SB19 have been strengthening their global presence through cross-cultural collaborations, including projects with Japanese group BE:FIRST and Mandopop icon JOLIN. Their international momentum continues to grow, highlighted by their historic inclusion in the upcoming Lollapalooza 2026 — making them the first Filipino act to perform at the globally renowned festival.
Likewise, ena mori is moving beyond the local music scene, set to tour across Latin America as part of a multi-city run with French musician, Pomme.
Earlier lineup announcements for Summer Sonic Festival 2026 included major international acts such as The Strokes, JENNIE, Keshi, LE SSERAFIM, and FKA Twigs, among others.
