With just one week until the release of her debut album, Addison Rae has released a new single, titled “Fame is a Gun.”

The newly released track showcases the viral pop star’s synth-pop sensibilities, even taking inspiration from the prismatic pop sounds of the early 2010s. Produced and co-written alongside constant collaborators Luka Closer and Elvira Anderfjärd, the song is just another example of Rae’s ever-evolving musical palette, adding a breadth of versatility to what fans and listeners can expect from the upcoming record.

Together with the track’s release across various streaming and digital platforms, an accompanying music video was also dropped online. Directed by Sean Price Williams (who directed Rae’s previous videos for “Diet Pepsi” and “Aquamarine“), the vintage-inspired visualizer sees the musician partaking in the ‘taste of the glamorous life’ that she croons about on the track. Check it out below:

“Fame is a Gun” marks the latest entry in the run of singles leading up to the release of her eponymous debut album Addison, following the likes of “Headphones On“, “High Fashion“, “Aquamarine”, and the chart-topping “Diet Pepsi.” The latter track reached a peak position of No. 19 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 in the weeks following its initial release last year, and was even selected in our editorial picks as one of the Best Songs and Best Music Video releases from 2024.

Addison is scheduled to release on June 6, 2025, via Columbia Records and Sony Music worldwide.
