The ASIYA Asian Music Festival and Conference is right around the corner.

Set to bring “music beyond borders”, the Karpos Multimedia-powered live event brings together some of the most exciting acts across the region. Headlined by Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster and South Korean rock act Hyukoh, as well as P-pop powerhouse BINI, the music festival and conference is happening this October 12 and 13 at the World Trade Center in Pasay.

While there are wide selection of Filipino acts to enjoy — from Zild to juan karlos to UDD to Urbandub, there are also an array of other Asian acts gearing up to set the stage on fire. From chaotic charm of South Korea’s Balming Tiger to the soothing melodies of Thai singer-songwriter Numcha, ASIYA features an exciting lineup of artists waiting to be added to your playlist — check them out here!


HYUKOH

Four-piece Korean indie rock band HYUKOH will be performing their first-ever stage in the Philippines for the ASIYA Fest. Recently having collaborated with Sunset Rollercoaster on their latest release, AAA, the band is taking their new songs to venues across Asia and Australia. Known for their sentimental ethereal sound, HYUKOH’s performance is not one to miss.

Following HYUKOH is Taiwanese indie act Sunset Rollercoaster, as part of their joint ‘AAA’ Tour. Sunset Rollercoaster had previously visited the Philippines in 2023 for that year’s Wanderland Music Festival. In one of their collaborations with HYUKOH, the “My Jinji” hitmakers teamed up with the Korean band and K-pop icon IU in an episode of her YouTube series IU’s Palette.

Taiwanese R&B singer-songwriter 9M88 is another exciting addition to the ASIYA Festival lineup. As her soulful brassy voice is accompanied by her funky, soothing production, this artist is sure to get listeners on their feet and grooving alone. In her most recent release, she paired up with fellow Taiwanese artist ØZI in their collaborative track, “BLEU” — a cheeky night drive R&B feature.

Babychair are the up and coming Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysian indie stars. Their music often features mellow beats, introspective lyrics, and a laid-back, almost nostalgic vibe that resonates with listeners seeking a more relaxed auditory experience. Sweet and sentimental, the “Oh It’s You” hitmakers continue to make ripples across the globe as they participate in and represent Malaysia in international music festivals.

Balming Tiger and their performance style is anything but ordinary. The alternative South Korean collective are known for their experimental and genre-defying music, describing themselves as a “multinational alternative K-pop band.” Similar to Sunset Rollercoaster, the group had previously performed in the Philippines at Wanderland 2023, establishing their distinct and unique identity among Pinoy audiences.

Originally debuting as a member of K-Indie duo OFFONOFF, Colde has established his identity as a solo performer in the K-R&B sphere of the industry. Leaning into a more downbeat sound, the artist pioneers the introduction of the chill-out genre to the K-pop community. Collaborating with some of the biggest names in the Korean music scene, his discography includes “Don’t ever say love me” (feat. RM of BTS), “Your Dog Loves You” (feat. Crush), and more.

Imase is a rising J-pop sensation, whose music has been all over social media. The “NIGHT DANCER” hitmaker originally debuted in 2021 with the single, “Have a nice day.” With this, Imase gained attention for his ability to merge traditional J-pop elements with modern, global influences, including EDM and lo-fi beats. His most recent release is the energetic and groovy “Metro City,” a collaboration with fellow Japanese talent Natori.

Rising Thai indie-pop artist Numcha will also be participating in the upcoming ASIYA festival, bringing elements of her dreamy R&B style to the stage. Her feel-good beats have resonated with Pinoy audiences alike, as made relevant by her recent collaboration with local indie act Flu in the song “I’ll Be Mine.” As part of Thailand’s burgeoning indie music scene, Numcha is quickly becoming a favorite for fans of easy-listening, emotionally rich music.

SALASA is bringing city pop back with a new, modern, R&B-inspired spice. Drawing from both Western and Japanese influences, SALASA continues to capture attention for her unique sound, which combines traditional musical elements with a fresh, contemporary twist. The “Amber” hitmaker recently released her sophomore album titled Golden Child in September this year.

Representing the island of Singapore, solo indie act Shye will also be joining this exciting lineup. The breakout artist has opened for international acts such as Daniel Caesar, Clairo, Men I Trust, and more. Recently having released her new single “Coffee Or Tea,” the artist continues to paint a unique fusion of bedroom pop and psychedelia in the modern soundscape of Singapore.
