Fresh from his success with the chart-topping band Cup of Joe, Gian Bernardino officially expands into the film and acting industry after signing with Viva Artists Agency and Viva Films.
Starting a new chapter in his career, Bernardino signed a solo artist management contract with Viva Artists Agency and a film contract with Viva Films during a live press conference held on June 23, 2026.
Present during the signing were CEO of Viva Communications Vic del Rosario, President and COO of Viva Artists Agency Veronique del Rosario-Corpus, President and COO of Studio Viva Valerie del Rosario, President of Viva Records Verb del Rosario, and Atty. Jillian Corpus.
Gian Bernardino is best known as the frontman of the band, Cup of Joe, formed in November 2018. Their hit song “Multo” has consistently charted on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 and Top Philippine Songs charts. Now, the musician is expanding his artistry into new creative spaces through acting and film.
Prior to formally entering the acting industry, Bernardino already appeared in the 2020 series Quaranthings, the film Kubli, the 2023 short film Microplastics, and several music videos.
When asked what made him decide to pursue acting, the Cup of Joe member shared how film has always been close to his heart. He referred to it as his “first love,” recalling how it has always been his dream since he was young to be seen on TV.
“Even before I discovered na gusto ko rin maging performer, gusto ko muna maging artista (that I wanted to be a performer, I wanted to be an actor first),” he explained. “It [was] definitely one of my plans, entering the industry. I guess it feels like the perfect timing na since I believe we’ve achieved great lengths in terms of music and I want to expand my artistry by entering film.”
