The announcement was shared on social media by Nick Hernandez, an Urban A&R Consultant at Sony Music Philippines. In his post, Hernandez shared his excitement at welcoming the hip-hop musician to the label, stating “Welcome to the Sony Music Philippines FAM, HELLMERRY!” Teasing what the label and the rapper have in store, he eagerly tells fans to keep an eye out for what else is to come from this fruitful partnership this upcoming 2024.
Hailing from the dynamic streets of Manila, HELLMERRY has rapidly ascended the ranks of the Filipino rap game, making a strong impact with his electrifying presence and razor-sharp lyricism on the local realm. Aside from his close affiliation (as co-founder) to Young God Records Philippines, the rapper first made waves in the hip-hop scene with the viral sensation “DAB (Leaked Interlude)” –– a track that skyrocketed to popularity on TikTok. Alongside his other releases, the majority of his discography, including his other hits like “4:AM” and “Thai Freestyle,” boast an impressive amount of millions of streams on Spotify.
Earlier in October, the hitmaker was also featured in a collaboration titled “Pull Up” with fellow rapper Shanti Dope, released via Universal Records Philippines. As part of the Sony Music Philippines banner, HELLMERRY joins labelmates SB19, Rivermaya, Rico Blanco, Clara Benin, Of Mercury, Any Name’s Okay, and Young Cocoa.
