Breaking into the weekly Billboard Philippines Top Philippine Songs Chart (dated September 7) is Over October with their 2024 single, “Ikot.”
The pop rock band made its way into the Top 10 slot of the Filipino-only songs chart with “Ikot” for the very first time. Released in April 12 of this year, “Ikot” has been on a steady upwards trajectory in breaching the limelight since it made its debut at No. 60 of the Top Philippine Songs chart shortly after its release.
On Instagram, Over October posted in celebration of their Top 10 spot with the caption, “Everyone grows at different rates, and it just so happens that landing a top 10 song took our band 10 years of hard work, countless sweaty performances, and buckets of tears.”
In addition to “Ikot,” also on the Top 10 of the Top Philippine Songs chart is the consistently reigning “Sining” by Dionela and Jay R, along with “Dilaw” by Maki, “Palagi” by TJ Monterde, and “Salamin, Salamin” and “Pantropiko” by BINI taking up the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3. No. 4, and No. 5 slots respectively. While BINI’s “Cherry on Top” and James Reid’s “Randomatic” remain at the No. 6 and No. 9 spots respectively, “Museo” and “Karera” switch places as Eliza Maturan’s single gains a position, ascending to No. 7 on the chart as the BINI hit moves into No. 8.
