There’s truly not many like Kendrick Lamar.

The Compton native’s latest album, GNX, has exploded throughout the Philippine soundscape, scoring two entries on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 Chart (dated December 7). With his collaborative feature with SZA, “luther,” placing at No. 7 and his viral hit, “squabble up,” circulating at No. 80, the hip-hop legend’s domination over the music scene remains clear.

Kendrick Lamar released GNX as a surprise album last November 22, it’s a nuanced collection of revelations following his immensely successful career and high profile feud with global icon, Drake. Marking his sixth studio album and his first full-length feature to be released outside of Top Dawg Entertainment, it’s an homage to the West Coast rap the artist hails from. As such, the influential body of work that also debuted at the top of the Billboard Global 200 Chart.

The Billboard Philippines Hot 100 ranks the biggest songs in the country, based on streaming data (both audio and video) collected by data provider Luminate. The chart encompasses tracks by both Filipino and international acts. The Hot 100 is one of Billboard Philippines‘ official music charts, alongside the Top Philippine Songs chart. Both charts will be updated weekly every Wednesday.
