One of the hottest new signings in WWE today, Mexican luchador Penta, now rocks a reworked version of his entrance theme, “The Fire Is Coming,” with a little help from Tool guitarist Adam Jones.
On the May 5, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw, the WWE Superstar made his way to the ring with his usual slow strut and flashy pyrotechnics, and an upgraded theme song.
Longtime WWE commentator Michael Cole informed viewers of the change, saying, “You’re hearing a new version of Penta’s theme featuring one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Adam Jones from the Grammy Award-winning band Tool, using a signature playing technique that’s been heard since the early ’90s and around the globe.”
For his match, Penta defeated JD McDonagh of the villainous faction The Judgment Day despite interference. He got his payback from the previous week, when the returning McDonagh had cost him the Intercontinental Championship match by helping fellow stablemate and current champion Dominik Mysterio.
The connection between Jones, Penta, and pro wrestling may not be as far-fetched as it seems. In 2011, the Tool axeman and longtime WWE fan kicked off that year’s SummerSlam by performing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” A few years later in October 2016, he wore a Penta mask during the band’s concert at Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Meanwhile, with a career spanning several major promotions, Penta made waves in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Lucha Underground. Before his WWE debut earlier this year, Penta competed in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH), where he won tag team titles with his younger brother, Rey Fénix, who arrived in WWE back in March.
Penta will challenge Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Backlash in St. Louis, Missouri, this Sunday, May 11 (PH time).
