The cat’s out of the bag! DC Comics’ Batman and State Farm Insurance join forces for the star-studded “Batman vs. Bateman” campaign, featuring GRAMMY-winning artist SZA, actor-comedian Jason Bateman, online streamer Kai Cenat, content creator Jordan Howlett, and of course, Jake from State Farm.
The campaign highlights that not all insurance is State Farm, just like Gotham with Bateman, isn’t the same as Gotham with Batman. In a series of clever and cheeky parody commercials, the unexpected collaboration between Batman and State Farm takes center stage.
Bateman’s comedic prowess is highlighted as he encounters villains from Batman’s rogues’ gallery — such as The Riddler, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and the Joker — all depicted with surprisingly comic-accurate designs. Meanwhile, SZA steals the spotlight in the 30-second “Here Kitty” commercial, channeling her fierce Catwoman energy with cat-burglary shenanigans — fending off cops, admiring her stolen jewels, and petting an adorable black cat.
As it turns out, SZA might be catching the acting bug. She recently made her acting debut in One of Them Days, a buddy tragicomedy also starring Keke Palmer.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the singer-songwriter shared that 2025 has been a fun year, especially having side quests like getting to play an iconic DC Comics character. “Catwoman was a gnarly opportunity, and I thought it would be so cheeky,” she said. “Why would I ever not play Catwoman?”
She also revealed her love for comic book movies, mentioning that she watches a lot of Marvel and DC films. She even made a “dead serious” pitch for an origin story about the Marvel superheroine Storm before she joined the X-Men.
