Shakira returns to the world of football with the release of “Dai Dai,” the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song — a collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy.
“Dai Dai” is the official anthem of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a joint initiative working to raise USD 100 million for children around the world to have access to quality education and sports.
Shakira’s royalties from the song will be donated to the Education Fund, and Sony Music, her label, will match the first USD 250,000 raised with a donation. She will also donate USD 1 from every ticket to her upcoming ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ Tour to the Education Fund.
This marks her return to the FIFA World Cup stage after more than a decade. She previously performed the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” and later contributed “La La La (Brazil 2014)” — a reworked version of her song “Dare (La La La)” — to the official 2014 FIFA World Cup soundtrack album, One Love, One Rhythm: The 2014 FIFA World Cup Official Album.
“The World Cup is one of the few things the entire world experiences together,” shares Burna Boy in an official statement. “Football and music speak the same language. They bring people together, no matter where you’re from, and being part of this moment through music means a lot to me.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place at 3:00 AM on June 12 (PH Time). It is expected to be the largest tournament in FIFA World Cup history, expanding to 48 teams and featuring matches across three host countries — the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
