To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the gang, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical, a brand-new original special, will premiere on Apple TV+ this July 18.
The 40-minute musical special celebrates the magic of summer camp and the importance of holding on to what you love. Charlie Brown, who loves camp, wants to make his final year memorable. But his sister Sally, a first-time camper, feels nervous and unsure about the unfamiliar place. Meanwhile, Snoopy and Woodstock discover a treasure map that leads them on an exciting adventure.
The special includes original songs by Emmy Award nominees Jeff Morrow and Ben Folds. It will be directed by Erik Wiese (Sonic Prime, Dawn of the Croods) and written by Craig Schulz (The Peanuts Movie), the son of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz.
Peanuts content made its debut on Apple TV+ with the premiere of the animated series Snoopy in Space in 2019. In 2020, Apple TV+ expanded its Peanuts offerings by acquiring classic archive specials and content. In 2023, a new Peanuts feature film from WildBrain (the studio behind recent Peanuts content since 2018) and Peanuts Worldwide was announced, with production beginning in 2024.
Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical will be available to stream worldwide on Apple TV+ starting July 18.
