A Filipino airline will temporarily change the flight number of one of their Singapore-bound flights to 5J 1989 in the lead up to Taylor Swift’s six-night run of The Eras Tour this March 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The Cebu Pacific flight, which flies out from Manila at 5:25 am and arrives in Singapore around four hours later, will use the flight number for the first nine days of March, as thousands are expected to fly for Swift’s concerts at the Singapore National Stadium. Those who had already booked their flights were informed of the number change, but arrival and departure times have not changed.
Cebu Pacific made the announcement on January 31 via social media, where they reshared a post from a netizen who saw the new number on Cebu Pacific’s booking page. The airline captioned the photo with, “Look what you made us do. #LetsFlyEveryJuan #5J1989.” On January 31, the flight cost P16,533. Other flight numbers on that same day have not been changed.
The caption was a reference to “Look What You Made Me Do” off Swift’s 2017 album, reputation. Fans have also speculated that the next re-recorded “Taylor’s Version” will be reputation.
Swift’s Asia stops for her famed The Eras Tour includes only Tokyo and Singapore. The pop singer-songwriter will perform in Japan starting February 7 and will have four consecutive shows until February 10. The Tokyo concerts will happen at the Tokyo Dome. She will then proceed to Australia for concerts in Sydney and Melbourne. Swift’s six Singapore concerts will feature Sabrina Carpenter as her opening act. The Eras Tour will wrap up on December 8 this year in Vancouver, Canada with Gracie Abrams as her opening act.
