The Hollywood Walk of Fame is officially inviting fans to witness Lea Salonga as she makes history as the first Filipino to receive a star on the famed walkway in Los Angeles, California, on September 4, 2026.
The social media account of the literal star-studded landmark recently posted a picture of the singer-actress’ star with details on the ceremony that will be held at 6225 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Pantages Theatre at 11:30 AM (PST).
The post instructed interested viewers to line up across the street next to Dunkin Donuts, on the east side of Argyle Ave. Fans who can not make it in person can also tune in online through the Walk of Fame’s website.
The ceremony will feature Emmy Award-winning journalist Sibley Scoles to emcee the event as the famed walkway installs its 2,855th star. It will also invite guest speakers R&B singer Brandy, Mulan voice actor Ming-Na Wen, and Glee star Darren Criss.
First announced last July, Lea Salonga’s reception into the Walk of Fame will precede her awarding at the third annual Manila International Film Festival’s (MIFF) Closing Night Awards Gala at The Beverly Hilton in California on September 6, 2026. There, the Filipina singer will be honored with the MIFF’s Icon Award in celebration of her legacy.
Hailed as the “Pride of the Philippines,” Salonga is critically renowned for her work in musical productions, playing such roles as Kim in West End’s (and later Broadway’s) production of Miss Saigon and Éponine in Broadway’s Les Misérables. The actress-singer is also known for providing the singing voices for the Disney-animated film characters Princes Jasmine (Aladdin) and Fa Mulan (Mulan).
Salonga will also be playing the role of the Dreaded Manananggal in DreamWorks’ upcoming animated film Forgotten Island, set for theatrical release on September 23, 2026. Recently, the Broadway star teamed up with fellow Filipino musical act BINI for a special version of one of the film’s songs, “A Parallel World.”
