Olivia Rodrigo finally releases her new song “serena joy” on streaming platforms.
The song, which takes its name from a character from The Handmaid’s Tale, was recorded for Rodrigo’s acclaimed third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, however, it wasn’t included in the final tracklist.
On August 21, 2026, it was surprise-released as a limited-edition CD exclusive, limited to 500 copies, and available at Analog Music Shop in Tustin, California.
The record and audio store is located near Irvine’s Great Park, the location of Daisy Chain Fields, an all-women music festival founded by Rodrigo, which will take place on August 29.
“surprise!!! serena joy out on streaming platforms now. A portion of all net proceeds go to daisy chain fields fund. I love this song so much!!!!” Rodrigo says on Instagram.
The festival was founded with the goal of uplifting and championing women and girls. The star-studded lineup of performers includes Chappell Roan, Doechii, KATSEYE, Mitski, Rachel Chinouriri, along with Stevie Nicks as one of the special guests.
