Carly Rae Jepsen returns with her new single “After All,” released via 604, School Boy, and Interscope Records.

Co-written by Jepsen, Kyle Shearer, and Nate Cyphert, the track appears on the Canadian pop star’s eighth studio album, Day and Night — an ambitious double album consisting of 24 tracks that also includes the lead single “On Wires.” It serves as the opening track of the record and is part of the album’s “daytime” portion.

“After All” is a “glistening celebration of love, penned as [Carly] contemplated how motherhood impacts one’s identity, choices, and perceptions,” according to the song’s official press release.

“Lock the door, stop the world, start the inspiration / I’ll be yours, in a moment to elevate the afterhours / Every night, even after all,” she sings in the chorus.

Accompanying the single release is a music video directed by Aerin Moreno. In the visual, Jepsen shows off her baby bump while reminiscing about the previous night’s messy dinner party and reflecting on the memories and new chapter that lie ahead.

The upcoming album is a follow-up to 2022’s The Loneliest Time and its 2023 companion piece, The Loveliest Time. Day and Night continues her tradition of releasing “double” or Side A and B albums, as showcased during her Emotion and Dedicated eras. However, this marks the first time she has released an extensive double album as a single project.
