PREP And Sunset Rollercoaster Team Up For New Single “Do What You Gotta”
It is the lead single from PREP’s upcoming EP, entitled One Day in the Sun, which is set to come out on March 20, 2026.

PREP have teamed up with Sunset Rollercoaster for a new single, entitled “Do What You Gotta.”
The new song from the English indie pop hitmakers and the Taiwanese jazz-infused synth-pop band was released on January 28, 2026 (Wednesday). In a press statement, the new song is described as “a warm, blissful funk floorfiller” that is “all about new beginnings, and trying to find love wherever you can.”
“Do What You Gotta” is the lead single from PREP’s upcoming EP, entitled One Day in the Sun, which is set to come out on March 20, 2026 (Friday). With this, the band is also releasing the new record on vinyl, which can now be pre-ordered here.
“It feels like this Sunset Rollercoaster collaboration has been a long time coming,” shares PREP frontman Tom Havelock in the aforementioned press statement. “We almost finished a song with them in London a couple of years ago; then Kuo [Sunset Rollercoaster’s vocalist and guitarist] performed with us in Taipei last year, and we went back to their studio afterwards for a long night of playing and talking about all sorts of ideas. But as soon as we had this song for the EP, we knew it was the one. At some point this year, we need to be on a stage playing this song with all of them.”
Adding to this, PREP keyboardist and synth-player Llywelyn ap Myrddin says, “Sunset Rollercoaster are perhaps the one other band in the world closest to us… They’re part of this scene that’s based in Taiwan, Japan and Korea — bands doing stuff that’s in our sort of world. It’s a scene that doesn’t really exist in the same way in Europe, and a lot of it is based around City Pop, which is Japanese pop music from the ’80s. That, as much as ’70s American acts, is where we’ve naturally gone to as a band.”
For PREP, the new song is their first release of 2026 and follows their previous collaboration track “Don’t Worry” — the band’s team-up with Thai singer-songwriter James Alyn.
Meanwhile, for Sunset Rollercoaster, “Do What You Gotta” is also their first release of the year and notably follows their fifth studio album QUIT QUIETLY, which came out on August 8, 2025.
