The Itchyworms have just announced that they will no longer be performing their upcoming shows for their ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ tour in Dubai and Abu Dhabi later this January.
The unexpected news was shared on their official social media accounts, wherein the iconic Filipino rock band shared their official statement behind the show’s cancellation, which was attributed to “unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.” Read the band’s full statement below:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, The Itchyworms will unfortunately be unable to perform in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2026. Our hearts are with our beloved Kababayans in the UAE, and we sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may cause. The producers will be reaching out to all ticket holders regarding refunds. Thank you for your endless support, love, and understanding — we truly hope to see you very soon,” said their original post.
Both shows in the Middle East were scheduled to be a part of their ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ World Tour, with the Dubai show scheduled for January 17, 2026, at the Pakistan Auditorium, and on January 18, 2026, for Abu Dhabi’s New Bar Arkadia. Tickets to both shows were fixed at a uniform price point of 175 AED/PHP 2,830.
Most recently, The Itchyworms released their latest album (and first Christmas record) with Christmas Starts When The Bers Begin, which included holiday songs like “Halo-halo” and a newly recorded version of their Christmas hit, “Season of Smiles.” The band also recently released their seminal hit record, Noontime Show, on a limited edition vinyl format pressed on colored vinyl, exclusively available at Backspacer Records.
Both the band and Backspacer Records have also teased another limited variant of Noontime Show on the physical format, which features the album pressed on a liquid-filled ‘Beer’ vinyl edition in honor of their classic of the same name. Though the band is unable to continue the ‘Akin Ka Nalang’ World Tour in the Middle East, they are still set to perform in Europe beginning this May 2026.
