Filipino rock band The Dawn is celebrating 2026 like never before. Marking their 40th anniversary in the local music scene, the band is embracing their KWARENTA (forty) with a series of live performances and hints of possible new releases.

At the turn of the new year, the band shared a post on Facebook to thank their listeners as they mark this milestone, with the caption: “To our listeners who were there from day one and the friends we gained along the way — SALAMAT (Thank you)!” They also teased and hoped the fans would be there for the exciting lineup of activities they have in store.

The band announced the first slew of shows for the anniversary celebration back in November 2025, with dates in Australia in April 2026, New Zealand in May 2026, Singapore in July 2026, and more shows to be announced.

In February 2025, the band held their special anniversary concert, ‘Almost 40,’ at the Music Museum in San Juan City, celebrating 40 years of their music.

The band is currently composed of frontman Jett Pangan, drummer JB Leonor, guitarists Francis Reyes and Sancho Sanchez, and bassist Bim Yance. In the lead-up to their 40th anniversary, they have released several singles, including “Earth” in 2023, their first-ever Christmas track “Maki-Pasko” in 2024, and “Missing Hearts,” “Sa’n Ka Pupunta?”, and “Delikado” in 2025.

Formed in 1985, The Dawn quickly became one of the most influential rock bands in the Philippines. They are known for such classic OPM hits as “Enveloped Ideas,” “Salamat,” “Tulad Ng Dati,” and “Iisang Bangka Tayo.”
