On October 31, 2025, local rap and R&B hitmakers Waiian and La Mave released a surprise joint single entitled “Kahit Umulan.” Suave and downbeat, the track serves as a warm tune to cozy up to on rainy days. Produced by Sticky, the song is a promise to a significant other to show up for one another even in stormy weather.
For La Mave, this follows his latest single entitled “Freedom,” which was released last October 17, under NPS Music. For Waiian, on the other hand, this would be his latest major release since his 2025 Album, BACKSHOTS, which was dropped on March 14 this year. The rapper also reunited with the rap collective Kartell’em for the track “KITBA” in August.
In relevant news, on the week of November 1, 2025, La Mave broke into the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 with Nateman with their track “Dominga.” While the song was originally released earlier this year in June, it is currently positioned on the Chart at the No. 36 spot.
Furthermore, in the first-ever Filipino Music Awards, Waiian was nominated for the Hip-Hop Song of the Year with “MAN IN THE MERROR.” Fellow nominees for the category HELLMERRY, Hev Abi, Zae, Robledo Timido, and Morobeats (who eventually scored the award with “GUBAT NA SIYUDAD”).
