Global pop superstar Ed Sheeran is set to deliver a one-of-a-kind music experience in the Netflix special ONE SHOT with Ed Sheeran, premiering on November 21. The special is directed by Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Philip Barantini, known for his acclaimed 2025 psychological drama miniseries Adolescence.
The four-part miniseries Adolescence premiered in March 2025 and immediately received widespread acclaim, winning multiple awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. Barantini brings a similar cinematic approach to ONE SHOT, captured in a single, continuous take with Sheeran performing his greatest hits over the course of a single afternoon in New York City.
The special includes impromptu performances on bustling sidewalks and subway cars, as well as candid interactions with fans and passersby. Netflix describes the experience as a “once-in-a-lifetime musical journey.”
The release of the special follows Sheeran’s eighth studio album, Play, which dropped on September 12, 2025. The album featured the singles “Azizam,” “Old Phone,” “Sapphire,” “A Little More,” and “Camera.”
Sheeran is set to embark on the ‘Loop Tour’ across Europe, North America, and Oceania in support of his eighth studio album, in December 2025.
