Phoebe Bridgers releases her new original song, “On Video,” from the soundtrack to A24’s psychological crime thriller Primetime.
The film marks her feature-film acting debut, with Bridgers starring alongside Robert Pattinson, Merritt Wever, and Skyler Gisondo.
Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the film is based on Luke Dittrich’s 2007 investigative feature, “Tonight on Dateline, This Man Will Die.” It centers largely on To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen as he sets out to make television history with his groundbreaking reality series. The release follows Bridgers’ long-awaited return with her third studio album, Lost Weekend, released in August. The 16-track record navigates major life changes involving love, grief, and adulthood, exploring the emotional weight of growing older while reflecting on the relationships and experiences that come with it.
The album marked her first solo music since her 2020 sophomore album Punisher. In 2023, Bridgers last released a full-length project, the record, with indie rock supergroup boygenius, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.
