In an upcoming single entitled “Value,” fresh local hip-hop talent THUGSTA and “Choosy” hitmaker Sica are set to combine their powerful and distinct sounds. The track is scheduled for release on August 31, and its music video will be premiered on September 4, following its release party at Apotheka in Makati City the night prior.
In an official press release, it was shared that the track “is a powerful anthem about recognizing your worth and standing firm in it. The two artists trade verses that radiate self-assurance and resilience, making it clear they won’t settle for less than what they deserve. The delivery is raw yet poised, blending streetwise grit with motivational energy.”
Furthermore, it was revealed that the central theme of the upcoming music video is pride in the Philippine hip-hop scene: “Here, our artists bid on iconic items that represent milestones in Filipino hip-hop culture — such as a chain reminiscent of Francis M’s legendary piece, an apple referencing Apl.de.Ap, and a plastic cup inspired by the visuals from Sun Valley [Crew]’s music video. Each object serves as a tribute to the culture’s legacy while reinforcing the song’s message of worth and authenticity.”
THUGSTA has been steadily releasing new music throughout 2025, his most recent being a collaborative piece with Matt White entitled “Ma.” produced by O SIDE MAFIA’s Costa Cashman. Earlier this year in April, he collaborated with Madman Stan of O SIDE MAFIA on the viral track “Brand New,” read more about it here.
This follows Sica’s recent collaborative piece with Filipino femcee Zae, “I can be the one,” released last July 18. Additionally, the artist represented the future of Filipino hip-hop with fellow artists: Alex Bruce, CK YG, Costa Cashman, NIO, Robledo Timido, SUPAFLY, Waiian, and YB Neet in Billboard Philippines’ Pinoy Hip-Hop Mixtape 2025.
