Ariana Grande will reunite with Wicked director Jon M. Chu for the upcoming animated musical film adaptation of Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, from Warner Bros. Animation. The film is currently slated for a March 2028 IMAX release.

Based on Dr. Seuss’ 1990 children’s book of the same name, the story follows the unnamed protagonist, a young adventurer who leaves town and travels through geometrical and polychromatic landscapes. The protagonist stumbles upon “The Waiting Place,” a place where everyone is always waiting for something to happen.

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will be creating original songs for the film. The award-winning composing duo wrote the music and lyrics the musicals Dear Evan Hansen and the upcoming The Greatest Showman. They also wrote the lyrics for the Oscar-winning film La La Land.

She will be joined by Josh Gad, known for voicing Olaf in the Frozen films and playing LeFou in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast remake. He is set to star in Frozen 3 and the Spaceballs sequel.

Meanwhile, Chu is currently attached to different film projects such as an upcoming Britney Spears biopic and another stage-to-screen musical adaptation of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
