NOBITA and Flow G just teamed up for a new song.
On February 7, 2025 (Friday), alternative pop band Nobita and award-winning rap hitmaker Flow G dropped a collaboration single, entitled “PNYT” — an emotional and vulnerable track that sees Nobita enter new musical territory, exploring the idea of “the unpredictable and sometimes devastating nature of love.” It notably sees a mixture of rock alongside elements of R&B as well as hip-hop.
An accompanying music video is also set to be released on February 7, 2025 (Friday) at 7:00 PM (PHT). Tune in to the premiere below:
“Extreme emotions require extreme expressions,” states NOBITA in a press statement, commenting how they channeled “the song’s frustrating agony, while maintaining the right balance of sensitivity and control.” In addition to this, the “Ikaw Lang” quintet also shared how working together with Flow G “introduced new dynamics to their music,” which helped them go beyond their comfort zone and “explore a completely different direction that is quite unusual from their repertoire.” “We added our own flavor, but at the same time, ventured in a space we don’t normally explore. It’s a great feeling to step outside of what we’re used to and create something new.”
According to the same press statement, “PNYT” finds its origins when “NOBITA met Flow G at a wedding and crossed paths several times at music festivals.” Despite the band not being close friends with the rapper, they felt a natural connection with him, which ultimately led to them messaging Flow G on Instagram and the “Rapstar” himself immediately agreeing to collaborate.
“PNYT” serves as NOBITA’s first single since “Gitna,” released last July 31, 2024. Meanwhile, it is Flow G’s latest release following “Kasama,” his collaboration track with Parokya ni Edgar‘s Chito Miranda from last September 2024.
