Manila-based indie pop trio Nameless Kids are holding on to the feelings that linger after love has seemingly run its course with “temporary,” their latest single and newest preview of their forthcoming album.
Written and produced by band members Nhiko Sabiniano, Kim Allen, and Imay Cortes, “Temporary” leans into the group’s knack for pairing polished indie pop textures with vulnerable songwriting. The song explores love, longing, and the uncertainty that comes with trying to move forward from something that still refuses to completely fade.
Adding another layer to the release, Steven Rutherford of American indie band joan plays drums on the track — a collaboration the trio describes as a dream come true.
“temporary” follows Nameless Kids’ recent singles “kuha mo na” and “sinungaling,” both of which are set to appear on the band’s upcoming second album. Together, the releases offer an early glimpse at the direction of their next chapter as they continue expanding on the sound and emotional candor that have defined their music.
Since debuting with “Outlaws” in 2020, Nameless Kids have steadily built a following through heartfelt songwriting and their distinct take on indie pop. The band released their debut EP Shoes out the Door! in 2021 before gaining wider attention with “Sa’yo (Ang Mundo),” which has since surpassed three million Spotify streams.
