2024 has been one heck of a year for BINI — with the release of their first EP Talaarawan, their latest single “Cherry On Top,” and the commencement of their ongoing BINIverse concert series, all signifying the beginning of their quest for world domination.

What some may believe to be an apparent overnight success has been four years in the making. To enlighten new and longtime BLOOMs (their fanbase) on BINI’s history, iWantTFC and ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs are chronicling the girl group’s meteoric rise in a new documentary series titled BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win, which traces the group’s journey from their earliest days to their triumphant first solo concert.

Premiering on iWantTFC on September 8, the documentary promises to offer fans an intimate look behind the scenes, with the series said to follow the P-pop group during the crucial days leading up to the first three shows of BINIverse at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. It will also delve into the “Salamin, Salamin” hitmakers’ four-year journey on the scene, following their audition process and the grueling training schedules, all the way to their recent rise to superstardom.

The first teaser of the documentary was released over the weekend and showcases the drama backstage and gives glimpses of rehearsals and preparations. “This segment, which is ‘Born to Win,’ tells the story about being a winner and how sometimes you need each other,” says their coach Mickey Perz in the teaser.

Directed by Jet Leyco (Gawad Urian and FAMAS award winner) and journalist Jeff Canoy (Palanca award winner), BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win is the first in a three-part series. Leyco describes it as a celebration of the group’s sisterhood and their perseverance through struggles, while Canoy adds, “What is happening to BINI is ‘herstory’ unfolding.”

Having concluded the regional legs of BINIverse with concerts in Baguio, Cebu, and General Santos recently, BINI is set to bring their A-game to Canada and the United States within the next few weeks. The celebrated P-pop group have also been announced as part of the pre-show lineup at the upcoming KCON LA which is scheduled to occur this July 27, 2024.
