SB19 And G22 Bring Out Filipino Pride At The MEGA Ball 2024

With another year comes a bigger and better MEGA Ball that spotlight the beauty of Filipino culture.

This year, MEGA Magazine brought together the worlds of fashion and food to celebrate Filipino culture in the most delectable way possible. Pairing luscious flavors and groundbreaking ideas, the 14th edition of the event saw a star-studded lineup of guests, all gathered together to celebrate the evolution of Filipino creativity and artistry.

Most notably, the event saw thrilling performances from P-pop acts SB19 and G22, both of whom took to the stage to celebrate Pinoy pride.

G22 greeted guests at The MEGA Ball with a sweet performance of Orange And Lemons’ “Pinoy Ako,” kicking things off on a high note as they embodied Filipino musical talent.

Backed by the Los Cantantes, Kammerchor Manila, and The Philippine Mesitersingers, SB19 then performed a heartwarming rendition of Ryan Cayabyab’s “O Bayan Ko,” raising the flag of the Philippines proud while wowing the most esteemed guests of the creative industry with their vocal prowess.

The P-pop Kings are also MEGA Magazine’s latest cover stars, gracing a version of the fashion title’s Local Global Issue. In their cover story, the P-pop Kings look back on their journey to global acclaim, remembering the hard work and resilience it took to get to where they are today. The Local Global Issue also features an alternate cover with actress Liza Soberano.

SB19, who have recently been nominated at the Kids’ Choice Awards, have made a name for themselves all across the world with their dynamic performances and resounding music. From ranking atop global music charts to bring their memorable concerts all across the world, the “GENTO” hitmakers stand proudly at forefront of Filipino pop music.

Right behind them are G22, who have continued striving to bring Filipino talent to a global stage. The girl group recently guested on the Chinese reality television show Show It All, proving that our homegrown artists deserve to be heard by the world.

2024 sees the 14th iteration of the MEGA Ball, which has grown to be an integral showcase of Filipino culture and artistry throughout the years. On this year’s theme and event, MEGA’s Editor-In-Chief Peewee Reyes-Isidro says, “This year’s theme is all about Food and Fashion. At first glance, they don’t seem connected, but they are both cultural manifestations of a people’s creativity and lifestyle. They are disciplines that both require inspiration, creativity, craftsmanship, collaboration, and passion.”
