Powerhouse awardee Regine Velasquez-Alcasid brought out one of her classic performances from her ongoing Regine Rocks concert series for the Billboard Phillippines Women in Music Awards.

Asia’s Songbird performed her rendition of Paramore’s “The Only Exception” after being introduced by her partner and acclaimed singer-songwriter, Ogie Alcasid. After her performance, she gave an emotional speech about what it feels like to be aging in the industry. However at the end of the day, she said that her son Nate Alcasid will always be her legacy.

Parati pag may nagtatanong kung anong legacy iiwanan ko sa industriya na to, feeling ko wala,” she laughs. “Sa akin po kasi, hindi masyadong importante kung meron akong maiwan or wala. I know makakalimutan ako, kasi ganon yun,” she says.

Pero para po sakin, ang aking legacy ay ang aking anak because people will forget about me, will forget about my voice, will forget what I’ve done in the industry but my son will always remember me. So, my son is my legacy.”
