A new era of Tyler, The Creator is soon at hand.

Yesterday (October 21), the award-winning rapper/producer released his new single, “Noid,” accompanied by a music video highlighting the narrative of the piece. The track serves as a preview for his highly anticipated upcoming eighth studio album CHROMAKOPIA, which is scheduled for release on October 28. According to the rapper’s post on Instagram announcing the single’s drop, “Noid” is set to be the third track on the album.

The single is a lot to unpack, with features by WILLOW, Bonita Smith, and Paul Ngozi all jam-packed into one song. Breaking away from the feel-good holiday energy from his previous album, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale, it release marks a new chapter in Tyler’s sonic journey and narrative. Here, he unveils his paranoia as an artist, being perpetually cast in the spotlight and scrutinized by the eyes of the public. Fittingly so, the music video follows his new masked character being taunted by crowds, overwhelmed with fans and attention.

This follows a series of teasers Tyler has been posting to build excitement and hype for CHROMOKOPIA. Just last week on October 18, the rapper dropped the first announcement hinting at the new album’s title track, “St. Chroma.”
