Having released her eleventh studio album mere hours ago, Taylor Swift has just dropped a surprise second half to The Tortured Poets Department –– releasing fifteen additional songs that complement Part 1’s sixteen tracks.

This isn’t the first time that Swift put out a surprise album, following the releases of her critically acclaimed 2020 albums, Folklore and Evermore. Yet now with a total of thirty-one tracks, The Tortured Poets Department marks Swift’s longest album to date, and her first double album in her discography. New additions to the record include the formerly physical-release exclusive tracks such as “The Manuscript”, “The Albatross”, “The Black Dog”, and “The Bolter”, together with several brand-new compositions that add a substantial amount of depth to the record’s narrative.

Describing the surprise release, the pop superstar took to social media to mention: “It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album. I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past two years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
